What we’re doing to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases
Safety is our number one priority - we’re asking all patients to follow the following protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, other patients, our staff, practitioners and the community:
Masks are recommended - we continue to recommend mask use and you may notice the team continues to wear masks in clinic.
Please don’t come to your appointment if you feel unwell - do you feel sick, or have you been with people who are sick? If the answer to either question is “yes”, stay at home, and if COVID-19 symptoms are present, call 8-1-1 to arrange testing. The BC Centre for Disease Control provides information about where to get COVID-19 tests and if you’re unsure if it’s COVID-19 you can use the Government of BC’s COVID-19 self assessment tool.
Hand hygiene is required – We have hand sanitizer available for use before and after treatment.
We’re keeping a social distance - Please continue to practice physical distancing in waiting rooms and other high traffic areas.
Help us to reduce traffic in the clinic - We’re encouraging our patients to arrive 5 minutes prior to your visit and not to bring visitors to their appointment whenever possible (we understand that some patients will need to come in with a caregiver).
Contactless payments are encouraged – We are encouraging everyone to pay through Contactless payment or payment through a stored credit card (or to direct bill to your insurance if applicable). Cash is not being accepted at this time.
Our staff are doing their part
In addition to the protocols for patients, here’s what our staff are doing to protect our patients:
We’re continuing our enhanced cleaning & infection control protocols – Our staff are cleaning and disinfecting all high-touch surfaces hourly. We’re continuing with the increased frequency and intensity of our professional cleaning services that we started during the earlier phases of BC’s COVID-19 restart plan. In addition we’re continuing our enhanced disinfection protocols inside our treatment rooms in between patients.
We’ve implemented recommendations for Social Distancing – We’ve arranged our waiting room and clinic space to maximize the distance between patients, staff and practitioners wherever possible.
Our staff and practitioners continue to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to practice hand hygiene – We’ve implemented hand hygiene stations and it is recommended that all staff wear a mask while onsite.
We’ve modified staff and practitioner policies – We have implemented policies to support staff who have symptoms of a communicable disease, so they can avoid being at the workplace when sick.
We have modern ventilation systems & air purification units - Our clinic was built in 2017 and we have a modern ventilation system that is running consistently during the clinic’s operating hours, in addition we have installed air purification units to increase safety.
Please be patient! We may contact you to shuffle or reschedule your appointment out of an abundance of caution if any of our staff show symptoms of a communicable disease.
We’re encouraging online care
We found throughout the COVID-19 pandemic that our ND patients benefitted from online care (telemedicine) so we’re continuing to encourage online visits where possible so that we can reduce the traffic in the clinic. Consider choosing a telemedicine visits instead of an in-person visit when booking on our online booking portal.
