Victoria Mierau, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
My passion for manual therapy began while working as a receptionist in a Physiotherapy Clinic. After a few years I decided that I wanted a larger role in facilitating healing. I enrolled in the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and completed the 3000 hour program in 2005. I used to suffer with chronic pain and headaches which has given me great empathy and first hand knowledge on ways to break the pain cycle.
I have a special interest in treating:
– chronic pain
– frozen shoulder
– compartment syndrome
– runner’s knee
Years of experience and a variety of techniques are used in each treatment to achieve patient goals. The techniques include myofascial technique, swedish, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue muscle stripping and pressure applied varies based on the needs of the patient.
Experience in creating treatment plans for:
– headaches (including migraine headaches)
– stress management
– postural corrections
– car accident rehab
– plantar fasciitis
– ITB syndrome
Over the years I’ve taken additional courses in self care and pain science and find myself fascinated and in awe of the body’s ability to heal itself. My goal is to facilitate healing with Massage Therapy and to educate patients on how to take an active role in achieving optimal health and alignment.
I look forward to meeting you in my practice.
