DR . Jessalyn Shamess, ND
Dr. Shamess works collaboratively with Dr. Klassen to run our Chronic Infection & Lyme Disease program. Dr. Shamess is available for initial visits, return visits, treatment based visits and our alignment calls.
An alignment call is the first step in your chronic infection journey. Our alignment call serves as the entry point to all of the programs we offer. We use these 15 minute calls to gather entry level information about you and your health goals so that we can place you in the appropriate track.
As someone who also struggled with a complex chronic disease, I appreciate the difficulty of dealing with a disease that is not well understood while navigating a system that constantly leaves you feeling misunderstood. I want my patients to leave feeling heard and empowered to believe they can restore their health.
Dr Shamess is a life-long learner and works to stay up to date on current research and treatment approaches. She works to find the root causes of your condition and empower you to understand how this impacts your health, so that you as the patient can make informed decisions when it comes to your health.
When not working with patients, researching or attending medical conferences, Dr. Shamess can be found backcountry skiing, mountain biking or curling up with a good book.
Dr. Shamess has a special interest in treating ME/CFS, chronic infections, lyme disease, autoimmune conditions and other complex chronic conditions, including:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Parkinson’s disease
- Digestive conditions (IBS, SIBO, diverticulitis)
